Okay...I get that part. But how deep will using this method make the floor area? And how do I keep it in the coop (referring to my door)???? Questions, questions...I'm always loaded with those!

My husband, added a 8 -10?inch board to the threshold. The floor is about 5 inches deep to begin and upwards of 12 to 18 by clean out time- 5 inches is the min. to prevent leg injuries. You control how deep it stays based on the amount of litter added/or subtracted. DLM is very like composting.

Yep......I have a deep door sill into my coop, maybe 10 inches deep. Deeper would be better.

Yep, a 2x4 is way too small. 8 inches would be the minimum. I think 18 inches deep would be perfect. But, make it a removable board so cleaning is easy.

What do you use for poop board for floor of coop? Or do you just have the shelves?
We are trying to figure our poop board for floor of coop and are stuck

In my small coops/ moveable coops, I just put PDZ on the entire floor.
