UPDATE!
Everyone who hatched is doing great.
We picked 20 eggs from our Buff Orpington Rooster ( Retard is his name )
Over 3 Gold laced Wyandotte’s and two Lavender Orpingtons. It seems the Wyandotte girls are getting most of his attention.
We ended up with:
1 clear day 4
2 early quitters day 4
2 no pips fully developed day 22
A 75% hatch rate.
I am pretty happy with that as it is my first artificial incubation. I am not happy with the incubator in that the controls are working but the sensors are junk. I ended up using standalone sensors and thought for sure I had ruined my chances because days one two and three were at 80% plus humidity and temps were at 101 to 102! So I dropped the temps and opened the leading edge of the incubator to dry it out to 35%. At day 17 I started to raise the humidity to 50%. Candled the eggs and everything looked good with great air cells and good movement. Day 18 I took the turner out and set them up with air cell lower edge up at 10 pm. Clark ( yes she has named them already ) pipped and zipped at 8 am! I thought there would be issues! None yet, so fingers crossed .

Aww what a bunch of cuties, congratulations on your first artificial incubation going so well!

I love that they all have names already! I'm bad about naming, my 8 week old chicks don't even have names yet. :lol:

I love watching BYMs feather out and trying to guess what the finished look will be! One of my broodies just hatched a few that have some very intriguing down colors!
