I've had chickens in the past but that was a few years ago. I want to get back into it, and need help with designs for a coop/run. I want 6 chickens. I want to make a portable/tractor coop and run. It needs to be big enough for the chickens to be in it the vast majority of the time - they will only be free ranging when it is super safe to do so (not every day). I want the coop to be off the ground so the chickens can hang out under it for shade, and the run to be big enough people can walk into it comfortably. I need to be able to move it to different places in the yard, and I have a tractor that can pull it. Has anyone built something similar in the past and have any tips?
My biggest concerns are rats (we had an infestation when we had a stationary coop), predators like coyotes and raccoons, and it being big enough for all the chickens to have ample space.
