If the body skin (not face skin) is red I would worry that another chick is pecking at it.

And yes, with any wild type chicks..girls should have a clear line through the eye.

Heres a few more of those cuckoo/silver duckwing chicks like the one showing the faint stripes.
You can see some of them are showing some of the eye stripe from the silvers.
Theyre funny little chicks seems like some of the duckwing pattern randomly bleeds through the extended black.

Yeah... the whites are on turbo speed

So your Browns didn't mature as quickly as your Whites?

Not at all.

Their faces pink up way later.....however they are only a week or two slower with laying.


The whites, even the girls, sometimes start pinking up at six weeks.

Yes.
I know with the light browns and light browns splits that the chicks were having some variations in their head markings. On another thread someone was having the same thing and mentioned they were culling them because the odd ones were wildtype and something else instead of wildtype/wildtype.
I assume mine were from others using light brown and dark browns when working with isabels. They also pointed out about sexing by if the stripe goes through the eye or not.
Ive just been trying to get my head wrapped around the differences and why with the whole head markings in them all.

I like the fact that the eye stripes make the sexable at hatch.

Easier to sex than the cuckoo colored birds and the silly head spot.
