True. I like to have a little room for when I do EXTRA work compared to normal to have something to turn into muscle. If you look at races horses they are lean and perform at top level. But have a strict schedule and feed program. I try to keep the to much worked off. I like the looks of this 3yr old mare. I started feeding her after this photo more than she'd ever had. Mostly free ranged previously. Then I started to break and work her and she got much thinner. And it took awhile to get her back up.
