I hatched my first combined hatch of Turkeys and chickens last month. Baby chickens are cute. Turkey poults are insane! They are just over 3 weeks old and I have to brood them in a jumbo dog crate. When I open the door to replace food and water, the turkeys fly out and land on everything (including me.) So I'm doing brooder duty with a turkey riding around on my shoulder like a pirate's parrot! I usually keep baby chicks inside until they are completely feathered, but these turkeys are nutz. They are going to the "grow-out" pen in the greenhouse tonight. There are +2 months old cochin chicks in there right now and I'm worried for the older chicks this time!
