Good day Community
Need help at looking for new rooster (Buff Orpington). My original pair are very high quality/gorgeous birds (got very lucky). All other Orpingtons I look at seem inferior in quality. I live in very isolated location so pickings are slim. There is someone selling roosters and just wanted everyone's opinion on what they think of the roosters advertised. Sorry these are the only pictures from seller.

Hello! Are you located in South Africa by chance? It appears your Orpington standard is similar to the English standard. While these birds are much better than the hatchery birds in America, I'm not sure they're up to par with your standard. They look like nice birds, well cared for and a decent starting point if this is what's available. Avoid all birds with the very light color or white hackles like these:

It's really hard to judge with such a large group but I like this bird the most from who I can see. He potentially has more depth of body and likely better type.

Here's a great quality bird from South Africa that went from a lot of money:

See the difference in type? You may want to look at an Orpington Facebook group for breeders to keep looking or work on a longer term project with one from this group :)

Thank you Rhodebar. Appreciate your input. I am in Namibia (bordering South Africa). Seems I got extremely lucky with my first pair as the picture you attached of the rooster looks exactly like mine. I originally just got them for some eggs but realized after a lot of reading that I have a high quality line. I will just have to be patient. Thank you once again.

You're lucky to have such a great bird! Best of luck breeding them! :)
