After watching a you tube vid showing the flying wet feather mess and the time to position the bird using the drill attachment I went with a drum unit. More upfront cost but I can process 30 CX in 4-5 hours.

I have something that is almost identical. It's faster than hand plucking so that's nice, but it's a huge mess. It's doable if you're not squeamish though. I'd just recommend one of those face shields though. I kept getting stuff in my eyes, no matter how careful I was lol. Oh, and wear a hat to keep the guts out of your hair.

I find that some birds it works better on than others, but the fact that it speeds up some of the work at all makes it worth the $30 if you're in need of something like that. However, I did just splurge and buy a used Yardbird drum plucker off Craigslist for my next batch. You can't beat the drum pluckers' performance, but these drill pluckers can be a an affordable way to pluck just slightly faster (and messier) than hand plucking.
