At last my great chicken coop Reno is complete! In perfect time because I *may* have just brought home six new chicks who are going to want to move into the big brooder by the end of the week!

It was originally one of five horse stables, and more recently was used for keeping thirty turkeys! (And FULL of turkey poop when we moved in!)

Some before pics:

(The opening between the run and the coop, AFTER I cleaned and painted inside).

And today:

I've still got a few small details to finish, but it's functional! The smaller hutch will be for introducing new teens (currently a week old and about to move from the new chicks brooder to the big brooder in the garage where these older pullets - and at least one roo - have been living) to the flock.

I wonder how many coops have chandeliers...

I'm new to all this....the guys down at the feed store swore it was absolutely essential though. :D

It's not functional...I used to use it as a candle holder above my old corner bathtub. I'm not finished it yet for the makeover....I'll post updates! It will have pearlescent egg "light bulbs" and crystals of course! This is so much fun!!!
