Red Sex Links or Black Sex Links?

Our family really likes the Novogen red sex links. They are quite intelligent and do far better at foraging than the ISA Browns. A couple hatcheries sell them. We got them from here by mail order. I haven't kept track to see if they live up to the claims as far as performance though.

I know the birds used to get these black and red sex links vary but from what I have seen the red are more friendly and calm. The black ones are ok but are not interested in being friends at all. Not aggressive but very much not interested. The blacks I have had are probably better at escaping predators since they are quick and active. The reds I had were surprisingly friendly and relaxed.
I wonder sometimes what breeds went into making the ones I have had. This time around I picked the red sex linked. They are a week old and seem to hold true with being a relaxed bird. Unlike the little cuckoo marans I also bought.
