Redcaps

This is a picture of my Red Cap rooster. Out of about ten cockerals, he was the only one that had a decent comb. He is 15 months old now. He and his hen like to come up to the bird feeder every day. We hatched out 3 pullets, and two cockerals in our incubator. We are anxious to see how they turn out!

No picture came through! :(

The University of Arkansas has taken on breeding Redcaps along with their other breeds to the APA standard starting with hatchery birds. They're just starting out but have already made progress. Our local 4-H club is picking up a large hatching egg order from them which may include a few of these. Should be interesting.
