Restaurant's Chickens and Their Coop Make the LA Times!!!!

There's an upscale tearoom locally that does that. They have a huge garden and chickens on the restaurant property. They also buy their meat from a local butcher.

There's a chicken restaurant in our area, Iva's Chicken Shack, and in the old days used to run a hatchery to provide locals with poultry as well as stock their own larder. When Cornish-Rock broilers became common, they shut down the hatchery.

But talking to the old folks, they go on about how fresh and tasty the chicken used to be when they raised, slaughtered and butchered their own.
