Pretty sure my RIR Bobbi is going to lay her first egg today! She practically kicked me out of the coop this morning when I was refilling the nesting boxes with shavings!

Those are gorgeous 7 week old babies!! Are they pullets? Just curious... I have a few that look like the first one and I can't tell yet what they are...

Rhode rock, can you get a closer pic of the baby laying down in the pic. The one standing has a lot of the RIR in it. It looks a lot like a red to me...

Though I'm still very new to all this.

Looks like a nice little pullet to me - but how old is the bird?

How old is he/she? Our girls were very slow to develope wattles and combs while the roos developed quickly. Is the bird showing any signs of aggresion? That was another give away for us. Then of course, he started crowing...
