Sex of chicks?

My chicks came from a near by farm and they were not sexed as day olds. What are the signs of males vs female and when can I determine this?

BYC has a nice article on differences https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/is-my-chicken-a-pullet-hen-or-a-cockerel-cock When you can tell for sure depends on a number of things, especially the breed, some you can tell quite early and usually by 12 weeks you can have a pretty good idea on most, but some breeds or individual birds will take longer.

I was once told that hens develop tails much faster that roosters, so far this method has worked well for me when buying chicks. I just ordered 30 chicls and one roo from Ideal Poultry and the system is working. Every one of the hens except one has a nice tail showing, the roo also has no tail feathers yet.
