Hey!

So first of all, here are some pictures of the two chicks in question:
Bobby:

Daffy:

Because of the larger feathers I would have thought Bobby was a cockerel and Daffy was a pullet but I'm not entirely sure.

If anyone could offer their opinion that would be great! :)

X2, I thought they had black on them.

Ok then, so the longer feathers wouldn't be an indication of anything? How long till we should be able to tell?
They're were hatched from eggs from the same breeder, who told us they were both Light Sussex, so I would have thought Daffy was too. What makes you think she's not?

I think that's just the picture; I'm pretty sure they're both Light Sussex.

Hi,
My chicks hatched 1 week ago. The 3 that are light sussex X Lavendar Araucana are BLACK. Totally what I wasn't expecting. The hen is the light sussex & the roo is the lav Araucana. Both pure but he got to her so I thought I would hatch them. Very cute little chicks. Is this normal?
