Sexing SLWs and Buff Orps

i still think its a little to early to tell

That's what I figured. Just was interesting to see that some of hte chicks we suspect are Roos are growing wattles and such, and have such red comb areas already lol.

Will be interesting to see who's who in a few weeks.

I think these guys are closer to 4 weeks old now. Not sure exactly, as I've lost track.
Several of them have very red comb areas, and quite red wattles forming. I'm seeing red ear lobes becoming more and more noticeable.

Thoughts at this point?













(That guard is about 13" from the floor...man they are tall when they stretch!)

Thinking we ended up with 6/6 roosters out of these SLWs from TSC. Lol. I think they are about 5 weeks now. Definitely seeing a few very red combs and wattles.

I don't think they are all Roos! White chest looks female, so does last picture. I wish you could make pictures bigger, and get some side and head shots., make sure whole body is in pic for side view. That would really help.

Yay! There's hope haha. Will get better pics tonight.

Ill do large pics foe the next batch. Keep them small so they wouldnt blow up the thread lol

Do you mean bigger than the "enlarged" version you get if you click on the pictures within the post?

Took all the chicks outside today (in batches of 12) to spend some time out in the beautiful weather.
They're all turning out quite beautiful, despite looking nothing like the breed standard haha.
