I have an outbreak of coccidiosis in my brooder with my 5 week old chicks. I was building them their coop and about to move them to it. Should I wait? I have read that they will shed the cocci for a while...if I should wait...how long? Part of the reason I am having problems to begin with is they are starting to get crowded in the brooder. (coop took longer than I thought and they grew big suddenly...) so I'd like them to move to their new home ASAP but not if it will contaminate it.

If none of them are sick, and if you have to wait to move them, then I wouldn't worry about it. This happens to all chicks and as they age, they develop immunity to it. They need to develop this immunity to carry them the rest of their days.

If they are turning up sick, you need to separate them into smaller groups and maybe switch over to a wire floor. The poop falls thru the wire and the birds have less contact with it. Mean while, get them on Corid to help clear up the symptoms of too much cocci.
