Reverse cycology. Tell them you DON'T want eggs and couldn't care less if they lay or not. And, give them some red pepper.

I have to chime in and say this is one of the funniest things I have ever read on BYC.

I too have chickens that pretend to lay, but don't. And the poor bantam rooster is chasing my brahma cross around...it's hilarious! But seriously though, my breeding pair that I bought 6 weeks ago at point of lay, and pointing or laying.

grrrr and they are bantams, so what am I supposed to do with them? Taxidermy?

It's a violation of the egneva convention, and they may relatiate by surrounding you in the coop and protesting loudly, it CAN be frightening....brrr,shudder, when I remember them doing it to me. They will sneak up on you, just put the egg down, and back away...
