I would like to get a good breed of chickens that I can show at the fair. But I am new and don't know what a good SHOW breed is. Please help. Anything is appreciated.
Thank you

I don't know many either, but I know the Orpington is a very beautiful chicken and also quite friendly. This breed has been used in shows before.

Here are some pictures:

also my favourite colour of Orpington:

Hi,

I had the same question when I was in the first year of chicken showing. The breed I had is what I believe to be one of the best breeds I could've started with. I started with belgian bearded d'uccle bantams, they are great show birds, easy to handle, small, friendly and are adorable.

Here is a picture of the little cuties :3

Chinese Silkies are good for shows.
Beautiful creatures they are
Here's a pic of my silkie:

Sebrights, Old English Games, Cochin Bantams, Barred Rock Bantams and Rosecomb Bantams. All of those are great beginner birds.
