Show me your quail pens!!!

Wow, I love your PVC feeders! That's a formulation I haven't seen before and I really really like it!

Thanks, I actually added the water system today.

It's just gravity feed, the bucket can be unhooked for cleaning and refilling.

Then, some birds!

I'm having trouble with my albums today so I went out and took some new pics, this is where my quail live.

The whole building is reclaimed pallet lumber.

A friend gave me a machine crate that I built around and incorporated into the building

I still need a few more pallets to finish the inside walls, then I will add another cage and some cabinets for storage.
The current cage is seven ft. long and twenty inches deep, by six ft. high, a second cage of the same dimensions will fit on the same wall as this one.

Eventually I will make an outside run for them, eventually!!!

Hi all! New quail owner here. Thought I'd post my set up (I'm UK based) and happy for any constructive criticism! I have 6 girls and 1 boy. All approx 5 or 6 weeks old. I'm v new to this and know I have a lot to learn. Keeping them as pets and if I get eggs, hurray! Also it is definitely not this neat or green anymore! I've only had them 6 days and wow they stomp it all down and poop everywhere. Covering with wood shavings and planning to rotate each month moving it to a new patch of grass.

I think it looks nice. I wish I could provide something like that for my quail!

thank you so much @Oob Child i bet whatever you have is perfect!
This is my one. It's in this thread already and they don't have greenery. I don't have a backyard and my front yard is used to grow vegetables. I don't have room for anything else.
This thread is over 10 years old and still going. Wow!
Here is my quail hutch. It currently has three quail in it and I'm hatching more soon.
They are Japanese/Coturnix JumbosView attachment 3554565
Edit: it has a cloth I put over the front at night on top and a dust bath in the top right corner
Hopefully when I move out I can give them something more natural :)

That looks like quite a nice setup. The first couple times you move them, expect them to take a break from laying. As they get used to the routine, they will be less stressed by it and will take shorter breaks from laying or won't stop at all.

Ah I love this set up! The pull out trays must make life easier. Also is that a ramp I can see at the back? Can they move between the 2 levels? Just asking as I think I read somewhere that they don't really do stairs or something :gigthough I could be very wrong!

It does! I can clean it way easier. Yes, that is a ramp. They use it to get to their dust bath on the next level. I wouldn't expect most Quail to be good at stairs, but mine have been using it their whole lives so it's allg 👍
