Show me your quail pens!!!

This is the what I am building. They aren't ready but I like how they look so far. There will be planters on top to put things that will drive away bugs.

Working on an expansion and rebuild of mine. Idea is to make them less messy, and easier for my wife to access.

The upright is the old style. The new one is the low version. It is almost finished, and when it is, the birds will be moved over and the old one will be rebuilt to match. This will double our capacity as well.

New one is done, and birds moved over. Old one has been torn apart and will be rebuilt to follow.

seasonal tractor. In the winter when there isn't much growing and in the evenings they stack in the garage (they are not predator proof). During the day my kids carry them outside under a shade tree to enjoy bugs and sun and plants

Being outside in natural light—I wonder how that compares to artificial light, as far as their internal clocks go. 🤔But how can they even get at the bugs and plants if they aren't touching the ground?

I keep my grass long enough that they still have plenty of treats climbing in/reaching in. The bottom of the tractor is about 1 inch off of the ground. It's also hard to tell from both of the pictures due to timing of day, but they always have partial sunlight. inside from the large windows (the bulbs were for extending the day) and outside I put another "roof"/board on top of half of the tractor

I have had chickens for quite a while, and a friend got me into quail, so I got busy and built a cage, I looked at many pic and picked out what I liked with each one, then built this.

The feeder inside.

It is filled from outside.

I built poop pans from duct metal, there are four pans.

The feeders are removable and there is a block off plate for the hole to keep everyone in.

The cage is going in the shed on the wall.

I have to finish the wall before I can hang the cage, I got to get busy!

I am going to build the water system tomorrow!
Hopefully I'll be putting quail in it by Saturday.
What do you all think.

Wow, I love your PVC feeders! That's a formulation I haven't seen before and I really really like it!

This thread is over 10 years old and still going. Wow!
Here is my quail hutch. It currently has three quail in it and I'm hatching more soon.
They are Japanese/Coturnix Jumbos

Edit: it has a cloth I put over the front at night on top and a dust bath in the top right corner
