Here is one of our fabulous show quality RIR roosters. Just 7 months old. His name is Dragon. My 12 year old carries him around. She will be showing him at our county fair in Sept.

Some days he is my source of entertainment. He is such a funny little guy.

She made him share and she's our smallest hen.

She looks a little annoyed!

I love watching the social interactions of chickens. I spend a lot of evenings just sitting with a cup of coffee watching them. I have a little Silkie cockrell who protects three really old LF Hens. Of course they pay him no attention since the rooster they grew up with died a couple of years ago. But he thinks he's their hero. He makes sure all his girls are safely roosted in the coop before he joins them. Then he'll come speak to me and sometimes hop up on my arm before he goes on to bed.

I can just picture that.
