Only about 8 weeks old ( i know its early to sex silkies) but there's no way this is a pullet right? I'm pretty confident it's a roo.

Was sold these as "sexed from hatchery" was told by the lady, but being silkies that's obviously never guaranteed

I'm fairly certain that silkie breed standard are supposed to have black combs
I believe you are correct about the standard comb color. But most breeders and hatchery quality silkies will have mulberry colored combs, more likely roosters then hens. This happens bc most people don’t breed silkies for quality, so he may be pure bred. I bought a buff Silkie from the feed store, he is purebred but has a single comb and mulberry comb, where the hens I bought have the black single comb. Yes I know silkies are supposed to have walnut combs not single I have to work on my buff silkies.
