Has given you I would give the sulmet a go. There are other treatments but many are only available through your vet. Penazeryl, metronidazole and salinomycin are just a few.
How are the chicks today ?

This is one of my 14 week old silkies. I have only two and one is a male (with the wrong comb) but I'm not sure on this one.



They were for my mom so hopefully I have one female! I just have zero idea of how to sex silkies!

I am trying to wrap my head around a *specials* coop that will have Silkies and cochin frizzles in it.

Here in Texas for the winter do I need an enclosed coop for these breeds?

Everything I read says *draft free* but I am assuming that is for the people north of here. Where they get snow and blisters from the cold. because of the feather composition and smaller size are they able to hold in enough body heat to stay warm and healthy if I only had a 3 sided structure with a covered run for them or should I put a bit more construction into it maybe a removable front for summer?

I live in Florida where we have 4-5 months of terrible heat, and the winters (?) we get a bit of frost here and there, but the temps don't stay low. So mine are out in pens with just a plastic tarp on top. I would worry only if it was cold and windy. So 3 sided should be great.

I have a young, beautiful, cuddle-bug duck that needs a very good home. I wouldn't mind a tiny silkie baby that will be an indoor house chick, not concerned with color or sex. If interested, let me know!
