Sleet Nest Duck Eggs

Nothing better to protect those ducklings than a Canada goose!
***PLOT TWIST***
Another set of Canadians showed up today with 8 balls of fluff. WHERE HAVE THEY BEEN?? The babies can't fly and we are in a neighborhood, so not many places to hide. 🤷‍♀️

So let's see.....
4 teenage ducks I incubated from the sleet nest, including one black one

2 ducklings left from mommas clutch in pond, including one black one

2 Susie's sitting on nests of approx 16 eggs each, I *think* due this week

2 OTHER grown Susie's and 4 drakes

2 Canadians, one of whom is protecting the 2 pond ducklings

2 NEW Canadians with 8 babies......

🤯

The Canadians are invading! Bring the Tim Hortons coffee to placate them!!!
OH! Don't start with Timbits, (donut holes) you'll be overrun by the geese.

But, in fairness, and in answer to my fellow Canadian @Canadian Wind , pretty much all snacks can placate (or just plain domesticate) a Canadian (geese or human) Don't feed us! We'll just stay to chat and then you'll have a hard time getting us to go ;) at least until the weather turns.

You obviously have a very welcoming and beautiful heart for all these mommas (who are fiercely protective of their babies) to come to your garden to make and raise the little ones.

Umm... Have you considered opening a fertility clinic in your garden? It seems a pretty magical place ❤️
