One of my sussex has a larger redder comb than it’s hatchmate, one lonely curved tail feather but I’m still wondering if it could be a hen. I’d be happy with a roo.

This one was slower to feather in. Stands more upright, “heavier” than the other pullet, and just always is alert and alerting to food or “dangers” which says roo to me.

I’m no expert - so I’m here ;) about 7 weeks old. I’m happy with either one but curious. If better shots are needed I can go grab them

Thank you everyone for your input, I will have to update once we have crows or not lol. I’ve been thinking cockerel for several weeks since he got a red comb and his pullet hatchmate doesn’t even have a hint of red to hers yet.
We need a roo so I’d be happy since my welsummer roo feathered in as a pullet 😂

I agree. I am confident enough to bet money on it. ;)
I kinda feel that way too because the comb hasn’t gotten bigger in the past few weeks but it’s huge compared to its hatchmate who is definitely a pullet lol. She has all her tail feathers and it’s female.. but this one is just confusing me 😭

Well, how are things progressing? I am thinking pullet- that comb would be far more pronounced in my opinion at this age. Attaching my SS roo at ten weeksView attachment 3172552
Nothing like that! Still bigger than my other speckled Sussex’s comb but nothing like yours . They will be 3 months on the 24th! So I’m going to say it’s likely a pullet .. just a confusing one lol! Pictures are from today
