Spring Flock Routine

Do you have a yearly spring routine to get your flock ready for peak laying time as it warms up? Just wondering what all of you do?
We start new chicks usually our own hatchlings unless we want to try something different. We check every bird for parasites and deworm them. I look over leg bands and replace with bigger sizes if they are getting tight. We give the coop a thorough cleaning freshen bedding and nests.

I just start smiling as I collect eggs, and it is nice enough out there to sit a spell and watch them.

I have new chicks in the garage. Where they will stay for another week. I like to get mine outside ASAP.

My hens are all pets. Springtime is an awesome season to just enjoy being outside. They are a pleasure to watch too! I was repairing a small coop for my bantams. One of my LF Blue Cuckoo Marans laid her egg practically at my feet!
