Give him 400iu of vit e directly into his beak - just pop the pill in and let him swallow. Give him some egg with the vit e - the egg has selenium in it to help with the uptake of the vit eI’m in the same boat right now. Selenium is all sold out and my order won’t be here for a few more days. I’ve been switching vitamin b gel and poultry cell for the past 3 days. My roo is so spoiled so he sleeps on the couch with me all night since this happened. During the day after vitamins it takes a bit but then he’s good to go until he crows the. Just flips backwards and then keeps on about his day. Is there any advice you have to give and how long should I continue to dose him
Thanks just did the vitamin e- he won’t eat the egg but I’m trying my best. I don’t want to cull him of I can cure him. Do I just do this once a day? Also is there a point where I need to give up. I don’t want him to sufferGive him 400iu of vit e directly into his beak - just pop the pill in and let him swallow. Thanks so much. No to treats. He’s been on all flock feed and loves corn as well. I’ve been putting a few pieces of corn in my hand with his feed to get him to eat. Once he gets the corn he will eat the rest of the food. I’ll have to give him the yolk with a dropper. I’ll start that tomorrow.,thank you for your input. I’m really rooting for himGood morning.
Do it once a day. If he won't eat the egg, try just the yolk - that is where most of the selenium is. If he won't eat it still, you can give him some of the uncooked yolk using and eye dropper or something similar.
The timing can be anywhere from a few days to months.
What is his normal diet? If you are giving treats, stop all of those while you treat him. He should be only consuming his normal balanced feed, which should not be a layer feed bc it has too much calcium. 20% protein should be the standard for him. Also, try wetting his regular feed and making a mush. They seem to like that a lot. Just make sure you are changing it daily bc it can go rancid pretty quickly.
Hope your boy gets better quickly.

One other thought...is the all flock a whole grain type or a pelleted/crumble type with all the ingredients blended together? Thanks so much. No to treats.
