I am having trouble finding a lot about Starlight Green Eggers (SGEs) or many pics of them. I come across a few here and there, but I think people including myself are really looking for more about them and want to see pics of what their chicks may look like as adults.
For that reason, I'm starting this thread not only as a place to post my own progress pictures of my own new SGEs, but also as a place to have general discussion about this "breed" in particular.
I will share my own experience about their nature, egg laying, egg color, plumage colors/variations, etc. as time goes on.
Right now, mine are roughly 4 days old or so. Purchased from TSC yesterday. We are keeping fingers crossed that they are all pullets as they were labeled "sexed pullets", but we all know how that can go!
All of that said, here are our 4 Starlight Green Eggers!
Do you have this "breed"?
What are your thoughts on them overall?
Please share pics!

I do have them, they are super friendly birds. My roo has been very good at his job and the girls are all pretty affectionate.Jusy started laying actually, so first green egg yesterday. I have a variety of colors and pics from every age as they grew, let me know if there is anything in particular you want to see 😉.
I want to see it all!! LOL
No really. I would love to see any pics of them at all. Would love to see the eggs, too. Is it a lighter green? Teal green? Sooo interested.
Thank you!

I got 1 starlight green egger (along with 2 buff orps and 2 cream legbars) from TSC on May 13. Norma (bird #3) is my starlight green. She is the most elusive and skittish out of all of them. So far still looking like a pullet, but time will tell!

Norma is beautiful and does look like a hen so far. Fingers crossed for you. So far, all of mine (nearing 2-weeks-old) are super inquisitive. They want to be with and near us. When we lift the top of the brooder, they jump up to sit on the edge nearest where we are to roost, preen, play, etc. I guess birds are like people...everyone's different. I hope Norma settles down a bit for you over time and that she remains a she :)

Thanks! Fingers crossed Norma turns out female as my 2 buff orps are looking like roos.
It's funny how they're all different. Also, I always heard cream legbars were aloof/skittish, but one of mine is sooo cuddly!

I ordered 2 Starlight Green, ( AND 2 Prairie Bluebells and 3 Easter Egger, Aspen Spitzenhauser, Buckeye, ISA Brown, etc.) from Hoover Hatchery. When they came yesterday, I was really surprised to see wing feathers on them (clearly 1-2 day old chicks). Previous chicks from other breeds have been fluffy or barely had the start of feathers. I am glad to see yours have similar wing development!

I agree they seem to feather out a bit quicker

My starlight is growing in some beautiful plumage. Hatched around May 30.
First couple pics was June 3 and the 3rd and 4th pics are June 22

Awww looks JUST like my son's Starlight 'Captain'. She is getting very beautiful plumage, too and about the same age!
