I know I was thinking the same thing but it makes for a striking look! This deer is a little strange...he stayed in our "yard" all day, meandering around happily and casually, with no concern for my kids who were ecstatic to see him so close (ages 2 and 3), the cats or the chickens. We do get deer passing through most days, but typically in large groups. They stop to eat from my garden and the trees in our field then run over to the neighbour's crops and they're usually more skittish. But I've never seen one decide to just hang out with us!! It was quite a treat!
