Looks to be a Leghorn and the hens have giant combs and battles.

I guessed that but was just double checking.

The rule with leghorns is they always have large combs and wattles regardless of gender so you need to look at the body and feathers. For example, I used to have a white leghorn hen called Zazzles who had the largest comb and wattles I have ever seen! :

She was molting at the time but you get the idea,

Based on the photo I would guess pullet but it's hard with so little visual info.

His father was a buff orp/ barred rock. Not sure about his mother.

I wouldn't call him anything at this point. He is in his immature youth feathers. After his 1st most next fall you'll see his true colors.
