The Cheerios are ALIVE!

Still recovering from the total moth infestation madness I described earlier this month and I got a lot of good advice from all of you. But in throwing a box of larvae-infested cheerios into the run I discovered the new best food for chickens.

Because not only are cheerios cute and delicious but when you peck them, they BOUNCE! The Cheerios - they're . . . . ALIVE!

You can imagine the excitement and noise. It went on for at least ten straight minutes.

(Actually they were Joe's Os, from Trader Joes. What-evah.)

None of my chickens have ever liked Cheerios but my rabbits go mad over them.
I have tried several times on the chickens and we have over 100 but no one ever eats them.

* Hmmm, How can we turn this chicken party into a cheerios commercial? They seriously need a new one, and chickens are so "hot" in advertising right now. . . OH!!! I GOT ONE! 6 "well-behaved" chickens sitting at a round farm kitchen table-- then, a mom-type places a bowl of cheerios in the center of the table. Pandemonium ensues, and the tag line "Party in every bowl. . . ." Whaddaya'll think???

I love the commercial idea, and a tagline at the end says : Now, with LARVAE, for extra squirmy protein goodness!

* Cheerios started out as animal food, anyway, if I remember right-- so a "larvae added" formula may just help them return to their roots!
