Now there happened to be, on the east side of a town, a small kingdom. This kingdom was called Silkiville and was ruled by the good King Simba.

King Simba is assisted in his reign by his younger brother, Prince Snaps. Prince Snaps has a fitting name. He can get snappy at the neighboring giants, especially the smaller ones, who do not always appreciate his displays of boldness.

However, Simba is very firm about his being in control. Snaps is below him. He is not mean about it though. He is gentlemanly to his ladies. Queen Saige is his favorite, but he also enjoys the company of Miss Selena.

The royal Flock is very excited to announce that dear Queen Saige has become broody, just 2 days ago. They are eagerly hoping that there will soon be a new resident in Silkiville. The scribe is yet unsure exactly how many prospect chicks are being harbored under the warm, loving wings of Queen Saige, and hopes they are fertile. Here is Saige's nest before, when she wasn't broody.

It is yet unknown whether Miss Selena is leaving gifts yet or not. However, a report has reached this scribe's ears that an egg was found at a rather unusual spot, and Queen Saige always lays at the same spot...

The kingdom is currently mourning the loss of a most beloved citizen, Lady Summer.

Love you, Summy! Miss you TONS! ;("]https://www.backyardchickens.com/content/type/61/id/6024047/width/350/height/700[/IMG]

Perhaps it was a winged dragon (hawk), masked bandit (raccoon), sly thief (fox), or some other evil beast. All have been seen near the kingdom, and the scribe, to be sure, is equally mad at all of them, as this is the 2nd loss, though much time elapsed between them. The puzzling fact is that that very morning the scribe saw all of them. But later, Lady Summer was gone that afternoon. No one knows a thing.

Oueen Saige is still sitting and has plucked quite a number of feathers! The downside: only one egg. :/ :)

King Simba, Prince Snaps, & Lady Selena enjoy their treat of corn & seeds etc.

While out hoping for a perfect shot of a king/prince crowing, This scribe got bored and started taking video clips. She happened to get a rooster crowing and replayed it to them which resulted in uproarious crowing from both! Quite amusing!
