Linnet got out of bed and went over to her vanity. She picked up the hairbrush and began brushing her long, dark hair. As she brushed, she called out to Maud what outfit she wanted for the day.

Maud hurriedly pulled out the garments as Linnet called for them. "Come, stand up child, so that I may dress you," she said as she beckoned Linnet.

Linnet sighed. Maud continued to treat her and the princess like children, even though they were now full-grown women. She went over to Maud and obediently did as Maud needed to dress her.
