As with you Shelleyd there are normally called whites over he too, not english whites. There are of course the folk on
ebay who just like to be different naming them redicious names Like "giant whites", jumbo whites", White pharaoh A&M's" and a few others.
I've bought eggs from these people and to me, they are no different from the white quail I breed, often they are smaller.
Some guy advertised Pure A&M eggs, that the parents were imported from USA as eggs, claimed they weighed up to 16oz. I bought these too and none never even got close to that weight. I contacted the seller who told me that it was my fault that I didn't feed them correctly, he told me that they needed a 24% protein food. They were in fact fed on turkey and Broiler mixed meal, which has a higher protein level?
You can, by selection, breed out the patches on them, but I found they were a lot smaller than the patched ones, so give up on that idea after a while.
