Tracking my chicken journey

Yeah, the top chick is the black maran. They are all close to being fully feathered. I will be posting their 4 week old pictures today. In a couple more weeks I will be be introducing them to their chicken coop outside. I have been using scrambled eggs as a treat to help make them more friendly and comfortable. They are a great group of chicks…. They are all supposed to be female but I think that the Blue laced red Wyandotte may be a male. I hope not since I can not keep males where I live but we will see with time.

Love your post and pic’s I am new to chickens as well I documented our journey in a video it’s been very enjoyable so far I hope you enjoy the video
This video was awesome and well done. I absolutely love that chicken coop and run with the gorgeous art work. You put a lot of thought and love behind your setup and it shows. I also like the layout of your yard with all of the plants. Very nice! Thank you for sharing… your girls definitely have a good home.

I think it's still too early to say about the wyandotte chick, but the look of its legs has me leaning towards a roo.

I am not the handiest guy so I threw together this fence around it and bought some chickens from Tractor Supply… 7 sex links and 3 barred rocks.
My kids loved them and everything was great until a raccoon climbed in one night and turned it into a massacre… Thankfully I made the gruesome discovery and not the kids.
Yes good thing the kids did not see that!
My granddaughter is 12 and loves our chickens thankfully our coop is critter proof to the max. Nothing is getting in on or under it. I used heavy galvanized mesh underneath and on the run and have patio stones two feet out all around. Even the windows are covered in galvanized mesh and I lock the yard and coop up every night. Can’t be too careful 😳

You have a really nice looking set up with your chicken coop and run. You definitely did a great job with it. Would love to have my own looking like this some day.
