Treatment for pox?

Since fowl pox is a virus that lasts a couple of weeks, nothing really treats it, including antibiotics. Some people use Betadine on scabs to help dry them out, but keep it away from eyes if you do that. Scabs are contagious so, do not disturb them. Fallen scabs that dry up and fall, may later become powdery and breathed in by other chickens who may then be exposed.
 
Dry pox with scabs on the comb, wattles, face, and earlobes is what most see. There is a wet form, which is more serious that causes yellow lesions and gunk inside the beak and throat. If one seems very sickly and is not eating well, then check the inside of the beak. There is a fowl pox vaccine which is good for areas in the Deep South and tropical regions where pox is bad.
