I was disappointed in the few turkey books I could find when we first bought our Narragansetts a couple years ago. Most books assume you will buy babies in the spring and slaughter by the holidays... I have always been interested in a book for those of us who keep them as pets and need info on long-term care. Probably the most helpful book I found was The Encyclopedia of Country Living by Carla Emery. It has a great section on keeping turkeys and other poultry and animals. Very practical information. Not for long-term care, either, but it will get you started and well on your way.
