So, these past four days my egg supply has been dwindling, in my small flock of 6.
Monday- five eggs
Tuesday- five eggs
Wednesday- four eggs
Today- four eggs.
My chickens are red sex link, and seven and a half months old. They have been laying since early June. Now that fall has arrived, it has been getting darker sooner. They are used to 16 hour days. Could this be what is causing this? I visit with them 1-3 times a day, changing food and water as needed. I just cleaned the coop on Tuesday. I also have a one and a half year old labradoodle, but he is very friendly, and not aggressive towards them at all. They've known him since they were three days old, and I even let them romp around with them occasionally. What do you think is making them lay less eggs? Are they stressed? If so, by what?
Thank you so much for all the help!
