Valley/Gambles quail and chain link

I have a 10x12 dog kennel that I was thinking about turning into a quail pen. It has a soft top for the boinks (7ft tall). Can Gambles and Valley get through standard chain link?

Any younger ones would. Idk about mature ones. It would be close. @007Sean

Yes, they will walk right through chain link. It is best to use 1/2" HC or 1" welded wire for the sides of the enclosure. Predators can also get to the birds if using chain link without some sort of finer mesh on the outside of the enclosure.

Coons and snakes would just love it....you could try covering it with half inch hc
