When I was a youngin' I used to raise ducks. We lived on the river and every year I would rescue abandoned baby ducks. (NEVER removed babies from their Mamas!)
Anywho, these were wild mixed ducks, not mallards (lots of mallard mixes) but all unusual colors. I had a "never wrong" way to tell from little ducklings whether they were male or female. I would squirt them with a garden hose! ALWAYS...every time...the males would put their chest up to it and walk into the spray and the females would run away or cower. (We aren't talking a pressure washer here! Just a gentle spray...I was a nice little girl!
)
Soooo, has anyone tried any particular technique to see what your chicks gender is? Don't worry, I don't plan on spraying my chicks!
