I think so, too. I also have one of last year’s meat bird roosters in the other coop. I certainly don’t need three of them, so now I have to decide who has to go. So far the two youngsters are getting along. We’ll see how long that lasts. They’re not prettier than Red. That gives them both points right there.

Good Morning, Pond!
I was at school for exactly one hour before they decided to close school for the day. I have a kind coworker who took my student so I could leave when the announcement was made. I’m glad I left when I did. There were a couple of places on my way home that were already partially blocked by drifts. Hunkering down for the day.

Found the cockadoodler! He’s quite obvious. (Confession time - I clearly haven’t seen much of my chickens this winter.) I swear that bird was all grey, small combed and looked like a pullet just a couple of months ago…

I can’t really tell by the comb. The one in front is for sure a hen and her comb and wattles are similar.

The saddle feathers look like cockerel feathers to me.

What’s the consensus of the Pond?

Oh yeah, both boys
