Yeah you're right about that. I love selective breeding I told my husband that in a couple of years, I'm setting up breeding pens for higher priced fowl lol!

Well I'm going to hold on to the hope that it's Royal palm. The hatchery they get them from has them. I'm praying hard now, because I love those stupid birds I'll have to send ya some pics of them later. I'm about to be elbow deep in chicken

Dude that's crazy! I've seen the crazy price the adults sell for tho! So it doesn't surprise me terribly

I have two splash roosters they just made a year.
My eggs hatched from them.
I was kinda surprised as they where just shy the year.

It is tho! I've got Marans already, they're not super dark and they're not great quality but they're Black Coppers and I can work on those other traits

Thanks for posting these pics! I have a couple of hens that look like this that I got in a “layer special” from M McM. I don’t remember if it was a rainbow special or not. But it might explain these eggs…

When I said elbow deep, I was being serious This coop is years old. And has been used on and off by free ranging chickens. No one cleaned it. But that's why I'm here

Aren't they though! I went back and got 3 more dozen eggs from the breeder
And 2 dozen celadon. They're set to hatch next week
