yup on the feather feet! Rule out the Javas unless you're patient... Nice birds but slow to mature... I gave my Icelandics to my serama breeder and part of me wishes I hadn't-they are gorgeous birds!!

I think I'll get three breeds; so the varying mature times would be fine.

I would think feathered feet would just get a bunch of stuff stuck to them. Dominiques are another good cold hardy dual purpose bird.

Just to try and narrow it down, I had crossed out Dominiques due to being more temperamental. Has that been the case for you?

Nope. They are actually the only breed I have that I have never had a problem with the boys. I have young kids so roosters operate on a short leash.
