Welded wire vs hardwire cloth

This one could be twisted better but its on there I usually spin it around again on the tags so it's pointing down.

I use hog rings for that.

But to answer OP's question if the run is to contain chickens during the day you don't have the same concerns as you would using welded wire where they sleep. A chicken will know to back away from a critter reaching into the fence. Not so if they're roosting asleep.

I think I see what you did with the 2x4 wire. Aside from using it for the lower part of the run, and tell me if I get this right, - you laid a section of this same 2x4 wire flat on the ground as a dig deterrent? Is that correct?

Yes, I cut a 48" section in 1/2 with a angle grinder by cutting on both sides of the center wire at 24". Leaving we with 2 20" sections of dig apron and 4" spikes to pus into the ground.

If preds are working in a team, they can scare birds over to one side where they may freeze in fear making for an 'easy' reach thru.

Depends on predator load....maybe both layered?
HC for little ones and WW for bigger ones.

It's a lot easier and more secure if you can fence your run from a roll. This way you can get a continuous fence with minimum joints.
There is no way a dog or even a human can pull hard enough to un-weld the mesh.

The welded wire won't keep rodents, weasels and even snakes out of your run. Just saying.

That stuff....no, not likely...it's nice stuff with small holes and 16ga wire.
But the typical 14ga 2x4 welded wire that many folks use is susceptible to having welds broken by canine bite...especially a frenzied domestic dog.
