What age do they start laying?

Mine now are about 8 weeks. I know I have a ways to go. I have 2 white leghorns and what I believe are 5 New Hampshire Reds. But just curious at about what age should I be looking for signs or to add a golf ball here and there?

I've heard 6-8 months, but I don't know for sure since mine haven't started laying yet.

normally between 20-24wks. but some are late bloomers.

Had one start at just over 18wks last year, so occasionally an early bird may jump the gun
