Im new to the whole chicken thing and had my 1st 3 pullets for several weeks now, i think they are between 14-15, i have a splash, br and ba, im just wondering what the average age for egg laying is and what are the signs i need to look out for that they are going to start laying soon?

Every chicken matures differently, even within the same clutch, An average age for most chickens to lay would be around 20 weeks old but this can vary a LOT, like even 29-30 weeks! Once the hens start doing the egg "squat" (you'll know when you try to pet her) it is usually about a week from egg-laying. I have 5 chickens that are 22 weeks old and only the RIR started laying a week ago. Still waiting on the 2 BR, 1 EE and 1 BO. I know it's hard waiting but you have another 5 to 10 weeks to go so sit back and enjoy!
