What did she get???

So, my 9 year old daughter was given this 4 week old chick. We have zero idea what it is or what gender... is it a turkey... or a chicken? Please help!!

Looks like a little Japanese Bantam! Probably the mottled variety. Couldn't say what gender it is though. Maybe in a couple weeks show us a picture! Either way looks like he/she is going to be a gorgeous bird! Nice find if it turns out to be Jap.

So, I finally got ahold of the person who have it to her. It is a Mottled Orpington Bantam.

Still not sure on the gender.

I'm thinking that it is a cockerel. It see wattles and they seem to be turning pink.
What do you think?


On a side note, this guy loves to be held. I love it.

What a sweetie! I thought those legs looked a little thick. XD It does look like little peep might turn out to be a rooster.
But then again only time will tell. Can you keep a rooster?
