I've taken a wiz on the compost pile. That eventually fertilizes the plants.

Yesterday I did a lot of weeding in some of my poppy areas and flower beds,so I made this little videos of my Poppies .

We love the California Poppies too, and I figured the white/cream ones crossed with the orange and the orange was dominant so we never had them reseed themselves either.

I didn't see if anyone had any thoughts on potting squash (both winter and summer) in a big (8 or 10 gallon) pot then let it trail on the ground around the pot. Raised bed space is going to be at a premium this season.

No its not really, I'm a lady,(some may disagree). I have wide mouth plastic containers all over the yard! It only a problem if I have my coveralls on and wait too long! Ill duck into a green house, potting shed,chicken coop or behind a bush even.

Was having trouble with the last quarter of a bag of potting mix. I finally turned it out. OMG! Not even MOLD! Full blown MUSHROOMS!!! UGH. The quality of stuff this year is pathetic!

No whiskey for us as kids but Mom did slather our chests with vicks. I swear it made us feel better, I suppose it could have been the vicks fumes that we breathed in or maybe how warm it made our chests.
