I researched and decided on the Salmon Faverolles to be the roosters of my flock. MMH sent me the Buff Laced Polish as my free mystery exotic chick and the grandson fell in love with it. He'll stay as long as they all get along. .

It seems that the Buff Orpingtons and the Easter Eggers are among the most popular varieties in people's flocks.

The RSL we got because I thought two of the LOs were male, so brought one back to the breeder and swapped for a RSL. LO turned out to be female so she gave her back.

She kinda looks like what my New Hampshire Reds are supposed to when they're mature.... Right now, they're more honey colored, but are starting to get chocolate flecks around the base of their necks and under their tails.

It's a Black Sexlink hen. Most BSL's are mostly black, but (though it's rare) you will some times get one that has a lot of gold on it. Shes' very pretty!

we're new to chickens, so we started out with 4 Buff Orpingtons. We weren't planning to expand the flock or get a rooster until next year, but that obviously wasn't in the cards for us. We knew within a week we'd expand sooner. When 'roostergate' occurred, we figured now is the best time to go ahead and add more. As of today, we have

1 Blue Marans
1 Sliver Laced Wyandotte
